LINE FISHING : the patience:
No need for any authorization.
Coastal fishing :
- along the coast, from the rocks (in the swirls), one gets "sars". On the seawall, and around the swimming pool, calamares are caught from November to Marsh. At the Cap Canadells, from June to August, beautiful "Dorades" (snapers) are often caught.
Boat fishing :
- to be enjoyed: At "Roc de Fora", high sea bed, 2 Km from the coast, fish caught include "galets", "grondins", "merlans", "congres". The place called "Carbonats", offers good fishing: it is a sea bottom gully, and geologically faulted area.
- Drag fishing: In September, "Dorade coryphene", "maquereaux"; and near capes, "loups", "dentis" are caught.
SUB AQUATIC FISHING : viewing
A special license is required, and can be obtained at the Shipping affairs office in Port-Vendres, or in some authorized diving clubs.
June and September are the best months.
The coral reefs offers nice hunting place: see the "Chambers" cove, and the "Ramera".
GAME FISHING
The "Espadon Club catalan" (the Swordfish club) organises a big contest every year, during July and August: the "Marathon".
Two days fishing at Collioure, Banyuls, Cerbère, Argeles, and the final is from Port-Vendres. |
